Collection: Felt Collection

Who made these felt products?

The beautiful felt products in our Felt Collection were made by talented artists who are permanently disabled at the Disabled Service Center of Nepal. These artisans face physical disability such as blindness and immobility.

US Sherpa first learned about the center through Chhultim Sherpa in November of 2021. Chhultim is permanently disabled and is a family friend of US Sherpa's founder Ongyel Sherpa. We started donating to the non-profit organization on Giving Tuesday 2021, when we were amazed by Chhultim's selfless dedication to helping people who face disability. We learned that the biggest way to support their organization is by helping the artisans become economically independent by giving them jobs to keep them busy and help with steady income.

After our first donation of 28 winter coats, we were able to visit the Disabled Service Center and learned about handcrafting felt products and decided to bring them back to the US.

When you shop our Felt Collection, you are directly supporting and employing people who struggle with physical disabilities in Nepal.
